When someone turns 18 they join the army automaticly but they dont have to be sent into a military camp unless they want to. If a war breaks out they can be drafted into military camp where they are trained and turned fit. Then they go fight in the battlefields or whatever.

Yes for both men and women and they must be in reserve or the national guard for 2.5 years.
